David’s orthodontic training, beyond the basics from undergraduate study, started with the Further Professional Training course he took in 2001. This included time at the Orthodontic Department at Hartlepool General Hospital amongst other disciplines including oral surgery, advanced restorative dentistry and sedation. Due to the limited orthodontic provision in general NHS dental practice, he gained most of his experience as a clinical assistant in orthodontics at North Tees General Hospital.

He currently works at three sites; one general practice and two specialist orthodontic practices. This mix gives him an insight into cross discipline primary and secondary care dentistry. He has recently become accredited to offer Invisalign, giving him an extra means of offering orthodontic treatment beyond the remit of NHS availability.
